21st December 2020

Dear Customers

Following the announcement of the new COVID-19 rules and regulation in the UK by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Saturday afternoon the 19.12.20, the French Government has decided to impose travel restriction and stop anybody from the UK to enter France for an initial 48 hrs period as of 23:00 hrs last night. These restrictions include driver accompanied freight vehicles. Please find below DFDS notice in this respect.

The information we are getting is sketchy but we can confirm that none of our vehicles were able to leave the UK after 23:00 hrs yesterday.

Please also find below the statement of the Port of Dover in this respect.  The situation at the Eurotunnel is the same. Both state that Inbound EU to UK traffic is unaffected – we seek clarification on this matter but have to advise you that some of our hauliers are now starting to refuse to send their drivers to the UK under these circumstances.

Due to these circumstances, we have no other option as to inform you that we are suspending all services from and to the UK with immediate effect.

Further updates on the freight scheduling situation will be forthcoming immediately when new information becomes available.

This will further slow down our efforts to clear up the backlog of loads not shipped.

Please be ensured that we are doing everything possible to clear up these backlogs over the coming days.

Please understand that we are unable to respond to every call/e-mail we receive as all of our efforts are directed at our operational requirements at the moment. The limitations of our COVID-19 work environment adds to some of our limitations to cohesively communicate with you individually.

Kind regards,

International Team
